Parra v. Gillaspie Construction Inc. and Johnson Excavation, Inc., appellate case 18CA0800. Plaintiffs sought more than $1,400,000 in damages and interest related to perceived defects in the construction of their multi-million dollar Steamboat Springs, Colorado home. Plaintiffs alleged the movement caused distress throughout the home including cracks in the drywall, cracks in the tile floors, separation at the fireplace hearth, kitchen backsplash pulling away from the wall, gaps and cupping of the hardwood flooring, etc. However, based on information learned during discovery, we fought the plaintiffs’ claims through a summary judgment motion he filed with the Court.
